The company has committed fully to remote work for anyone who wants it, and Kalinowski thinks that “companies that are not able to offer it will see themselves at a distinct disadvantage.””
For those businesses that wouldn’t (or couldn’t) hire remote workers, their talent pool just opened up. It will take awhile for them (and their teams) to adjust to this new normal – hiring outside of their region. However, it will make them more competitive, which is a good, long-term thing.
