Manny’s game is nearly 40 years old, and like pickup games all over the United States, it has its own rules, code of conduct and culture. A few weeks ago, I helped organize our Sunday soccer league. It was scorching out and the humidity was thick.
Games started at 8, 9, 10, and 11. By the fourth game, I was worried that folks were getting tired and beat down with the weather but I looked around and everyone was having a great time. Laughing and having fun.
That fourth game went on longer than it should of and probably could have continued even longer.
