Pay TV is magnificent, but its a firehose of content when most people need a trickle.
Providers of pay TV will soon be in the same boat as cellular providers: stuck in a decades-old world of technology and consumer service, only to shift pricing / plans in hopes of recovering before it’s too late.
With cellular providers, it’s voice v. data. Pay TV providers will be TV v. Internet.
We made the switch a few years back and have had little reason to look back.
(And I agree. There is a way I’d go back to pay TV.)
