Suarez v. Evra: Haven't We Had Enough?

Shouldn’t we just let this go?

Evra was clever at Old Trafford. Luis didn’t shake his hand because Evra’s hand was down there. What else is Luis supposed to do? Would you go to shake someone’s hand if their hand is way down there by their side? Course not.

But then, because Luis didn’t do it, Evra has pulled him back by his arm as he walked on, as if to say to everybody: ‘Look, I wanted to shake his hand and he didn’t…”’

Evra probably stayed up all night thinking about how to do that. The whole thing was ridiculous.

Even as a Liverpool fan, my first thought was to carry on. Haven’t we had enough of this? It’s probably just some fallout. Maybe even something that was mentioned in passing and is now being dug up.

Ooh. But what if Johnson had a point?

What if there was a camera angle that showed Evra shaking Henderson’s hand, then dipping it to his side, to make it difficult for Suarez to shake?

What if Suarez did try, but passed up the moment because he felt Evra was snubbing him?

Johnson was right about one thing:

The whole thing was ridiculous.
